You Were Created to Sing God's Name

This mind doesn't need concentration or control. It needs to hear the most beautiful names of God.

If I think my mind needs concentration and control, it is because this mind has more energy than the one who wants to control it. This mind is only following its nature, seeking what is marvelous and wonderful! This mind is supposed to blossom in all directions, expand, skip, dance and sing, for it is searching for fulfillment.

The very effort to concentrate denies the nature of my mind to seek more and more beauty....

Instead of narrowing this mind with control, why not give it more space? Instead of concentrating, why not de-concentrate and expand?

When my mind has infinite space to play in, there is peace. No matter how many thoughts arise and dissolve, the space that contains them is eternally still, eternally silent. In this vastness, I drop a tiny gem, sending out ripples that fill the whole sea. Into un-concentrated silence, I drop the most beautiful Name of God.

A mind that vibrates with the divine Name needs no discipline. Every distraction, even the wildest fantasy, gets entwined in the web of beauty and rapt in silence. Without effort or discipline, the sparkling radiance of the Name spontaneously enthralls my mind, and I am spellbound.

O mind, rest with delight in the radiant Name of God. Take the very form of God by singing God's Name. How can you wander when you're lost in the Word that creates all? Wherever you go, you have returned to the source of creation. You need no vessel, for you are the wine. You need no instrument, for you are the music. You need no wire, you have become the electricity. What need for self-control when you discover the dignity for which you were designed? You were created to sing God's name! Selah.

Padmanabha: Solar Plexus

Different organs of our body are governed by different devas. The solar plexus is connected with the sun, that's why it is called "solar" plexus. When the first rays of the sun fall on the solar plexus, it is very good for your body. Doing Surya Namaskar ("sun salutation") yoga asana in the early morning is very good. The solar plexus has a profound impact on the central nervous system, optic nerves, stomach, and what we usually call "gut feeling." It is the second brain in your body. Usually the solar plexus is slightly bigger than an almond. Studies have shown that with the practice of yoga, meditation, and Sudarshan Kriya, the solar plexus can become as a large as the size of the palm. Then it performs better. It balances the body functions. When the solar plexus expands, the intuitive mind works better. The mind becomes clear and focussed. When the solar plexus contracts, one feels horrible, sad, depressed, and all the negative feelings come. Krishna was called Padmanabha, meaning "whose navel is the size of a lotus flower." If you become Padmanabha, you become absolutely creative. Brahma, the Creator, is born out of a blossomed solar plexus. These days, the solar plexus remains small, but the tummy keeps getting bigger.

In the beginning, when God created the universe, what was God thinking? Maybe She wasn't thinking anything. She was just humming.
