A Tiny Space Within Your Heart

“Vast as the space without
Is the tiny space within your heart:
Heaven and earth are found there,
Fire and air, sun and moon,
Lightning and the constellations,
Whatever belongs to you here below
And whatever does not,
All is gathered in that tiny space
Within your heart.”
~
Chandogya Upanishad 8.1.2-3
In this invigorating moment of pause and regeneration that is the Equinox, it is good to take stock of our true mission here, especially in this time of transfiguration, when Glory infuses the earth.
Of
course our avocation is to do what is needed to support ourselves and our
families. But our vocation, our true calling, is to pour a New Creation through
the Hridaya, the heart chakra, putting into practice this ancient Upanishad,
which is the essence of Vedic science. As above, so below. As without, so
within.
How
does one do this? First, one doesn't "do" it, but allows it. Consent
to the breath of the Divine. The "work" is to allow, allow, allow.
And how does this happen? Breathe down trillions of stars through your tender,
vulnerable, wide open crown. Let the radiant braid of the Milky Way pour
through your spine into the grail of the solar plexus. Then breathe out rainbow
beams of a New Creation through your heart, co-mingling violet rays of Wisdom
with ruby shafts of Love.
It
matters not whether you call these twin rays of wisdom and love, Rahman
i'Raheem, Logos and Sophia, Govind and Radha, Jesus and Magdalene. And there is
no need to visualize the Kingdom in order to manifest it. Just allow the
exhalation of the beams. Angels of fire, air, water, soil will churn and
spiral, fractal and Christolize this light into a new species of energy, both
flesh and spirit, matter and consciousness.
This
divine energy we call Glory: "Kavoth" in the Hebrew of the Old
Testament, "Doxa" in the Greek of the New. It is the substance named
"Soma" in the Vedic literature. No, not the juice of some mythic
mushroom, but a neuropeptide molecule produced in the fully awakened nervous
system, through the interaction of the brain’s pineal gland with the nerve
ganglia around the heart.
Soma
permits us to participate in the act of creation, through our perception. Soma
activates latent DNA codes, and higher-dimensional cell crystals, to behold
what the Elohim creator angels are doing around and through us. When Soma
enlivens the senses, awareness pervades the object perceived. I Am tasting and
seeing my Self in a dust mote. "Yatha drishti, tatha srishti: as is my
mind, so appears my world."
This
prayer, inhaling heaven through the crown, exhaling paradise through the heart,
may happen spontaneously with each breath. But first one needs to set aside
periods of meditation, ideally at dawn and sunset, to practice luminous
breathing. This devotion is effortless, yet intentional. It is our highest
honor and deepest pleasure to breathe forth the New Earth, as co-creators with
the Divine. For in the ultimate hologram, a singular I Am affirms, "I Am
you, I Am me, I Am the universe."
