Do You Ever Ask?

 

O seekers ever searching

for the right "spiritual practice,"

do you ever ask,

What is God's spiritual practice?

Do you ever answer, I Am?

The pulse of my heartbeat

is the name of the Friend.

The silence that flows

through my breath

is the Holy Spirit.

My body is the garden at dawn,

where Magdalene meets Jesus.

Do they kiss?

They kiss.

Wisdom and Ecstasy,

twin serpents

twirling up my spine.

Surely, this is the tree of life.

I Am

God's spiritual practice.
