Discreetly,
as nature does,
no, not her most
common colors,
but the ones
she reserves for caesuras,
vanishing centers, the depth
of pools, a morning glory,
robin's egg, a sky
over Lemnos in June,
the stillness
between thoughts,
and when we gaze
into each other,
where we go, where we
come to rest,
the purest
blue.
