Who is the Friend?

The one who placed

an infinitesimal bell

of silence

in your heart

between what rises

and falls.

When you hear this

unstruck sound,

stars tremble.

Even the darkness

grows intimate

and soft,

because the breath

that encircles the universe

is yours.
