The Subtlest Object

This breath
is the subtlest
object of sensation,
yet it is the fragrance of the soul,
gossamer dew stuff,
manna in the wilderness.
The Goddess wears
your inhalation
as her luminous veil.
Remember this
as you fall asleep,
which is to fall in love,
which is to drown
among galaxies clustered
like living coral
on the
wreck of your bones
in the ocean of the unborn.

Don't be the dream,
be the witness.
Be the silence in the bell
of your heart,
giving
a self
to every creature.
Yes, She wears this breath

as her wedding veil.
Yet beneath it her face
is unfathomable darkness.
Please don't try
to understand.
Just become the night.
