Breath of Dawn

When the swan
of your Name descends
on the exhalation of dawn,
alighting on the still lake
of my beaten heart,
where a golden mist
of unfathomable kindness
rises to kiss the sky,
many thirsty creatures come
to bow at the water's edge
and drink from
our mystery.
No need to whisper
"Jesus, Jesus."
No need to pray
"So'ham, So'ham."
No need to murmur
"I am You, I am You"
with every breath.
Silence knows.
Lips and wings
can find this place
without moving.
