Alchemy of the Heart

 

It is an immutable law that, as we hate, we become more and more like the object of our hatred, even if we feel righteous in hating the one who is dangerous, unjust, or vulgar. This is the alchemy of hatred. But as we love, we become, not like the one we love, but love itself. This is the alchemy of forgiveness.
