Watch

“Watch and pray.” ~Mat 26:41

All night long
while our bodies sleep
you and I are one star,
a Witness
watching over them.
Their breaths ascend
ever so gently
to touch our light,
then return
fragrant with our musk
of compassion.
Diastole of sap
unfurling their petals
through a stem.
Fountain of moonlight
descending
to moisten their bones
with secret joy.
This is the work
of Turiya
beyond the dream.
The One who stays
awake, the One
we really are.
