Finished
"It is finished." ~John 19:30,
Jesus' last words on the cross
Soften your
crown.
Breathe trillions of stars
down your spine.
Pour them into the grail
of your solar plexus.
Cluster light-years of eternity
in a single cell of hemoglobin.
Wash the hollow of your bones
with songs of amrit and new wine.
Through each soft respiration
polish a strand of DNA,
entwining it with iridescent
intergalactic resurrection codes.
Fractal your amazement
into multidimensional emeralds
of space-time, then exhale
the golden, violet, crimson rays
of a New Creation rainbow.
Let your heart become a kiln.
Truly now, you are praying,
“Thy kingdom come,
on earth as it is in heaven.”
Truly now, you are the way,
the truth, and the life.
You Christalize the body
of the world. The Beloved
gives thanks for every pulse
and undulation of your chest
because, in this very breath,
his work is finished.
